📎📎⚖️👍💤 Issue of law, law fields, the New Lawyer’s Sacred Duty, Humanity, effort & Great Pakistan.

Entering the legal profession is a defining milestone. For a new legal practitioner, the transition from textbook theory to courtroom and legal practice brings a profound realization: law is not merely a set of regulations; it is a triadic duty combining legal skill, professional ethics, and genuine human empathy. The famous Punjabi verse captures the core philosophy required for this journey:

مالی دا کم پانی دینا، مشکاں بھر بھر لانڈا جاوے۔۔

مالک دا کم پھل پھول لانا، او لاوے یا نہ لاوے۔۔

(Means the gardener's duty is to nurture with water, bucket after bucket; the Master's (Allah alone) role is to grant the blossoms, whether He chooses to or not.)

When entering a competitive market, a new lawyer assumes the mantle of a caring gardener (Mali). Rather than chasing quick profits, they cultivate trust step-by-step with patience and dedication, leaving their reward and success to the mercy of Allah. While senior lawyers often charge high fees, rush through consultations, and keep a cold distance from clients, they usually advise new lawyers to do the same.

Your primary obligation is an unyielding commitment to client care, diligent research, and tireless dedication. As a new lawyer, you must continuously invest your time in nurturing your clients' cases, much like a gardener pouring water bucket after bucket to nourish a growing garden. While the ultimate outcome of justice and resolution rests entirely with Allah, as captured in the spirit of faith:

"وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ"

"And when I am ill, it is He who cures me." — (Surah Ash-Shu'ara, 26:80)

But the quality of representation, depth of effort, and sincerity you provide are completely in your hands. This lifelong struggle to serve with excellence must remain your guiding principle. When you align your legal duty with genuine compassion and reliance on Allah, no power on earth can stop you from becoming a lawyer who brings justice and relief to those in need, blessed with comfort and success in this world, and everlasting grace in the life after death.

Pursuing justice in good faith—as reflected in the Punjabi verse above—is also the core legal standard that establishes the ethical framework within which a lawyer operates. Clients will come for advice; you must not misrepresent their situation or put them on false pretexts, respecting client autonomy and transparency. Maintaining this sacred trust between practitioner and client ensures that every individual is represented safely, fairly, and with professional dignity.

While legal rules set limits and statutory knowledge provides the right tools, human kindness is the true heart of justice. Empathy, patience, and active listening turn basic representation into meaningful advocacy. A lawyer who remembers the person behind the legal struggle stays humble, strong, and dedicated to serving others, always guided by a simple truth: do your duty with full effort, and leave the results in Allah's hands.

So, focus on your process, your knowledge, your legal duties, and your compassion. Like the gardener carrying buckets of water, a legal professional's true success lies in the sincerity of their effort, leaving the final outcome to the higher power of destiny. This spirit of total dedication, pure intention, and surrendering the final outcome to God is beautifully summarized in the poetry of Baba Bulleh Shah:

چڑھدے سورج ڈھلدے دیکھے ، بُجھدے دیوے بلدے دیکھے

ہیرا دا کوئی مل نہ جانے ، شیشے چمکدے وکدے دیکھے

جنہاں دا نہ جگ تے کوئی ، اوہ وی پُتر پالدے دیکھے

بلھے شاہ سب تقدیر دا سودا ، بندے نوں محنت کردے دیکھے

Translation:

(I have seen rising suns set, and extinguished lamps light up again.

I have seen diamonds go unrecognized, while shiny glass sells at high prices.

I have seen the helpless and forgotten raise prosperous children.

Bulleh Shah, the final outcome belongs to Destiny alone; man's only role is to put in honest effort.)
